GAGTA-11, the 11th GAGTA Conference (Geometric and Asymptotic Group Theory and Applications) will take place in Bilbao

26 JUNE – 30 JUNE 2017 (Mini-courses, young researchers and contributed talks)

and

3 JULY – 7 JULY 2017 (Plenary talks)

Dear All,

We are very pleased to announced that Prof. Zlil Sela (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) is visiting the Department of Mathematics of the UPV/EHU. He is going to give a graduate course in geometric group theory. The course is going to be two-weeks long starting next week, i.e. the weeks of January, 16 and January, 23.

We will meet Monday-Wednesday-Friday from 11.00 to 12.30.

Everybody is welcome! _LIMITED_ support for graduate students is available.

El próximo miércoles 27 de mayo  celebrara el décimo  «Barcelona Weekend in Group Theory».
Las actividades del Barcelona Weekend estaran coordinadas con las del encuentro entre la Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques y la Edinburgh Mathematical Society que se celebra en Barcelona del  28 al 30 de Mayo. El encuentro tiene una sesión especial en teoría geométrica de grupos y Enric Ventura es conferenciante plenario. En total serán 3 días de teoría de grupos  y 12 charlas.

La lista preliminar de ponentes para el Barcelona Weekend es:

Dear all,

next Wednesday May 27th  there will be the Tenth «Barcelona Weekend in Group Theory».
The Tenth Barcelona Weekend will coordinate its activities with the Joint Meeting of the Edinburgh Mathematical Society with the Catalan Mathematical Society, which takes place on May 28th-30th, 2015. The Joint Meeting will have a Special Session on Geometric Group Theory and a plenary talk by Enric Ventura. All together, it will be three days of group theory, with twelve talks on the subject (plus many talks on other subjects at the EMS-SCM meeting)
Everyone is welcome to attend.

A preliminary list of speakers for the Barcelona Weekend is:
